Custom 14 Food Processor
Product Description
A perfect gift for new homemakers, the food processor has
become an integral part of modern cooking, speeding up a
multitude of processes, including kneading dough; slicing;
chopping; shredding cheese, vegetables, and meat; mincing
garlic and parsley; mixing batters; and emulsifying mayonnaise.
Cuisinart's Custom food processor comes with a 14-cup work
bowl; five basic attachments for slicing, shredding, chopping,
mixing, and kneading; and also features two feed-tube options,
one big enough to handle a whole potato. This processor comes
with a compact cover for use when the feed tube isn't needed
and a pulse control that allows the desired degree of fineness
when chopping and puréeing. Remove the detachable stem for
compact storage of discs. All the parts are dishwasher-safe and
the motor base wipes clean. In addition, a custom-contoured
spatula, a recipe booklet, and a 30-minute video designed to
familiarize the new owner with the care and use of the food
processor are included. --Victoria Jenkins

"Cuisinart DFP-14"
By, "dmmourning" (New Orleans, LA USA)
"I just received my DFP-14 and love it. I used to have a
hand-me-down no-name food processor that died last year. I had
been wanting a new processor, but didn't want to spend the
money for the new model Cuisinart. When I saw the price on
this, I ordered it immediately. I've already used it 4 times
this week, from hummus to pizza to a huge batch of homemade
bread. Unbelievable. And dishwasher safe. This huge workbowl
can handle anything. Several family members have different
brands of food processors, but I've noticed that the ones with
Cuisinarts still use them years later, and they work as well as
they did on day one. I'd never use another brand. An incredible
bargain on one of the best products on the market."
"I Love this Food Processor!"
By, K. Proctor "rowbum82" (Seattle, WA)
"I have had several smaller cheaper food processors in the
past, and wanted something bigger and better, so 10 months ago
I took the plunge and spent what is for me a good chunk of
money for this Cadillac (or Lexus) of Food Processors. After
having owned and it and used it frequently for the last 10
months, I couldn't be happier with my decision. It does
everything extremely well, and has held up with no problems of
any kind. I use it at least weekly and frequently wash in the
dishwasher. The blades are all still very sharp and the large
capacity allows me to feed a crowd and simply use it for more
frequently. Unlike my other processors, I no longer question
whether it is really saving me time vs. doing stuff by hand. It
is a real time saver, and I expect it to serve me well for many
years."
"Fast, Easy, Very Good Buy! Works Great! Safety Features Not
a Problem."
By, Jane Caroll "nyc party girl" (New York, NY)
"I bought this for my mother-in-law to use to make meals for
her mother who is 90 years old and can no longer wear dentures.
It is amazing! "Grandmother" can now eat regular foods just
like us. I've pureed everything from hotdogs, to vegetables, to
meats, to french fries for her and she really enjoys the food!
I've also used it to make homemade whipped cream, cucumber
veggie chips (for my dehydrator), banana nut bread, salads,
coleslaw, and cheese dip for the rest of us. It shreds a block
of cheese in about 30 seconds. The first time I tried to use
the machine, it did not work and only by looking at the
instructions again, did I realize it was because I had the bowl
on backwards. Once I put it on the correct way, it worked fine.
I'm happy about the safety features because I had to get
stitches a few years ago after cutting my fingers on a handheld
blender because I was tired and not paying attention. I like
knowing that the cuisinart will not start if I have assembled
it incorrectly. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I haven't
experienced a "wait time" to use the Cuisinart if I have
assembled it incorrectly and have to reassemble it. There is
also no worrying about lining anything up correctly. You just
have to make sure you have the bowl on with the handle facing
the push buttons because otherwise the push top cannot lock in.
This is very easy and within a few uses you will immediately
recognize which way to assemble the cuisinart. Like the other
reviewers said, Keep it out on your kitchen counter and you
will use it more often. Cleanup is pretty easy. I've washed it
in the dishwasher with no problems. The 14 cup size is perfect
for a family of 4 or more, and really even if you are only
cooking for 2, this is still a great machine. I like cooking
extra food so I have leftovers for later. Fast and Easy! I'm
very happy I decided to spend the money. I highly recommend
this product."

PowerPrep Plus 14-Cup Food Processor
Product Description
Cuisinart's PowerPrep Plus gives new meaning to the term
"cutting edge." This premier kitchen workhorse is streamlined,
so the base looks less boxy and the processor more sleek and
unobtrusive than ever on the counter. In addition, the rounded
shape makes cleaning easier--no more sticky crevices and
corners. But it's more than just looks that put the PowerPrep
Plus in a league of its own. The 14-cup work bowl has a huge
capacity, holding up to 3 pounds of bread or cookie dough or
more than 2 pounds of meat, which means less parsing out of
batches and more consistent mixing overall.
Also, the wide-mouth feed tube gobbles up whole fruits and
vegetables, which means less prep work. The powerful
direct-drive induction motor base has touchpad controls with
indicator lights and a special alternate speed for bread
kneading. This model comes with all the basic accessories,
including slicing and shredding discs, a chopping/mixing
S-shaped blade, and the fabulous PowerPrep metal dough blade
(all are stainless steel), plus a plastic spatula, recipe and
instruction books, and a 45-minute how-to video--complete with
pizza dough secrets from the Culinary Institute's
chef-instructor Bill Briwa. The 2-1/2-foot cord can be wrapped
underneath, and all detachable parts are dishwasher-safe. The
food processor measures 8 by 11 by 15-1/2 inches and carries a
full 10-year motor warranty with a limited three-year warranty
on the entire unit. --Erin Brown

"Powerful!"
By, A Customer
"I bought the Cuisinart DLC-2024CHB/14 cup processor. Love
it. The power is impressive and the holding tank is large
enough. I can soups, etc. and this makes it very nice to be
able to chop all the vegetables in the same bowl. I change the
blade for shredding or larger slicing and don't have to empty
the bowl as the bowl size is great. I made a bunch of marinara
sauce and ground the fennel seeds in it; however, that
discolored the plastic holding bowl---haven't tried other ways
to clean it yet--just hand washing. I use it enough to leave it
out on the kitchen counter, I love the chrome finish."
"Simply Amazing!"
By, A Customer
"I must say that I've owned several food processors in the last
year, most of which were purchased at Target or Walmart. There
is absolutely nothing that compares to this machine. I've owned
this product for over a month and I absolutely love it. It is
so much quieter than the cheapo ones I've owned before. It does
an excellent job at slicing and dicing at a great speed. I was
originally hesitant about purchasing this because of the price
tag, but let me tell you that it is so worth it! I love the
stainless steel finish and I leave it on the counter because I
use it often. Besides the fact that it has a much longer
warranty than the others I bought, which had their own share of
issues. If you are considering purchasing this product, just do
it...you'll be glad you did."

"I love this processor!"
By, "gbphipps" (Chebeague Island, Maine United States)
"The Cuisinart PowerPrep Plus is a beautiful workhorse! It
is large enough to handle large jobs in one batch, rather than
having to make things in repeated batches as has been my
experience with other machines. I love this processor and am
finding more and more uses for it. I use it practically daily.
The accompanying video demistifies the machine and also gives
some good cooking tips. All pieces fit comfortably in the
dishwasher so clean-up is a snap. I have not encountered any
negatives as yet!"
"A Cook's Dream Machine!"
By, K. G. Schneider "Librarian, Writer, and Booka...
(Tallahassee, FL)
"I bought this machine using a gift certificate from my last
place of employment plus a little of my own dinero, and have
been absolutely thrilled with it. It has flawlessly and
effortlessly kneaded pasta dough, mixed a double batch of heavy
gingerbread cookie dough, grated parmesan cheese to a fine
powder, rescued slightly lumpy gravy, whisked together
cornbread in seconds, and most recently sliced a variety of
vegetables for tossed salad for 25 people (which I was
requested to bring to a party--I am not a "salad person," so I
was tickled when everyone praised my contribution!). I had
never used a food processor for slicing, but it did a beautiful
job with bell peppers and cucumbers--artfully thin, but not too
fine a cut. As promised, it even did a fine job mincing just a
couple of garlic cloves and also a handful of parsley, meaning
that I could do a dinner's worth of food-processing in just one
machine.
The accompanying video can only be watched by people who take
food equipment seriously; other family members had to be asked
to leave the room during the viewing, as there was much
giggling about the over-earnest instructions. Nevertheless, I
picked up some fabulous tips about using the Cuisinart, and
recommend you sit (alone, or with a true believer) and watch it
beginning to end.
The surface of the machine is very easy to clean, and
Cuisinart recommends the dishwasher for the bowl and blades. Do
be careful with the latter--Cuisinart should really include the
disk holder, as it is dangerous to leave these accessories
lying around in a kitchen drawer.
This is the third food processor I have owned, and though I
mourned the demise of my trusty Panasonic (rated highly by
Consumer Reports ten years ago), with this high-end Cuisinart I
have "been to Paree" and have no intention of going back to the
farm. If you do any industrial-strength cooking, or if you
(like me) are sold on using a food processor as a high-powered,
self-contained unit for basic mixing duties, this is a
wonderful accomplice in your prandial ventures. Bravo
Cuisinart!"
"For The Serious Cook"
By, L. A. Ritter "The Cake Queen" (Raleigh, NC)
"I am a working mom who loves to cook but my time is limited.
This 14 cup processor is great for me because I can do large or
double batches of most anything and save time (I have the
professional 6 quart KitchenAid mixer if that tells you
anything). The first day I got it I had just been given a large
bag of sweet potatoes and I made filling for 2 sweet potato
pies in one batch. I had purchased and returned a KitchenAid
processor because I had a problem with liquids leaking out the
bottom (the center post was too short) but this processor
worked great. It has handled everything I've thrown at it, from
pesto to shrimp dip to scones and cookie dough. I haven't tried
bread yet (one of the reasons I got it) but will try that next.
Most cooks could probably go with the 11 cup model but I'm
really glad I didn't!"
